Video: Studying Great White Sharks at Año Nuevo Island

Studying White Sharks at Año Nuevo Island, Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary: from Sean Van Sommeran on Vimeo.

Año Nuevo Island attracts many white sharks and other marine life, especially when the seals are “in town.” In a video from Sean Van Sommeran, sharks are filmed for the Pelagic Shark Research Foundation.

From the video maker:

“A video produced by Callaghan Fritz-Cope of the Santa Cruz California based Pelagic Shark Research Foundation (PSRF).

The Pelagic Shark Research Foundation (PSRF) established the study in 1992 under the direction and leadership of Sean R. Van Sommeran.

Special thanks to Callaghan Fritz-Cope, Dave Casper, Guy Oliver and the entire PSRF ‘Team Pelagic’ roster of current and former members, operators, supporters and fixtures; Three cheers for a home town effort by an independent research, education and conservation group.

Dont let anyone ever tell you its easy.”
